See who won only contested race

Clinton held local primary elections Tuesday, April 1.

Ward 3 Alderman was the only contested race, and Clinton opened only one polling place in the city at the Clinton Parks and Recreation Administration.

Incumbent Clinton Mayor Phil Fisher, Republican, officially passed the baton to William C. Purdie, Republican, who ran unopposed. Fisher announced his retirement in Sept. 2024 after serving as Clinton Mayor since 2013.

Alderman, Ward 3:

With 494 votes, Amanda Mills Jones beat Lee Logan, who had 115 votes, and Ronald C. Morton, who had 149 votes for the Ward 3 Alderman Republican ticket.

Since there were no other candidates running for this position, Jones has secured the role.

Incumbent Ward 3 Alderman Robert L. Chapman ran unopposed for the Alderman at Large Republican ticket.
