RFK Jr.’s Steak ‘N Shake Visit Has Spurred A New Meme, And People Are Questioning Why Conservative Politicians Can’t Ever Stand Normally

A few days ago, Fox News posted an interview with the Secretary of Health and Human Services, RFK Jr., out of a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant. Yes, you read that correctly.

The segment was part of an effort to highlight the Trump administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, which claims to have the goal of lowering chronic disease in Americans. Part of this plan is to target the “over-utilization” of medication in the US, including lifesaving mood stabilizers. Another major part is examining the “threat” of “certain food ingredients.”

One ingredient RFK Jr. has been vocally against is seed oils, i.e., common oils such as sunflower, grapeseed, and canola. The polyunsaturated fats in seed oils have been demonized across social media over the past few years, not only by RFK Jr. but also by wellness influencers who claim they’re inflammatory and unhealthy.

Doctors and dieticians have largely debunked myths about seed oils, which were initially introduced to help lower cholesterol and the risk of heart disease from consuming animal fats (i.e., saturated fats). But that doesn’t stop RFK Jr. and MAHA supporters from promoting alternatives like beef tallow, often using the phrase “Make Frying Oil Tallow Again.”

Which brings us back to Steak ‘n Shake. The fast-food chain has officially declared that it’s transitioning away from seed oils and has started cooking its fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders in beef tallow. And they were absolutely thrilled to host RFK.

They even turned his name into a verb.

And while Steak ‘n Shake was celebrating “making frying oil tallow again,” the internet was celebrating something entirely different: a new meme. Apparently, men in this administration just…don’t know how to stand…?
