Perth traffic: Thick blanket of smoke causes visibility problems for motorists

A thick blanket of smoke across Perth’s northern suburbs is making visibility difficult for motorists.

Main Roads WA has warned drivers to be extra cautious with the smoke reducing visibility.

It is not known where the smoke has originated from but there are active fires in the Wanneroo and Chittering areas.

A breakdown on Mitchell Freeway southbound before Hutton Street in Osborne Park is holding up traffic.

Police are on site while the driver changes a tryre.

Traffic is also slow but flowing on Kwinana Freeway southbound after Beeliar Drive in Atwell after a crash.

A tow truck is onsite.;

An earlier crash on Mitchell Freeway southbound after Graham Farmer Freeway has been cleared.

However, beware that traffic is still slow on approach.
