Boise police are investigating a Friday afternoon crash that left a motorcyclist severely injured.
At around 4:20 p.m. on March 21, first responders from the city’s police and fire departments went to the scene of a collision in West Boise involving a motorcycle and a vehicle near the intersection of Cole and Ustick roads, according to a Tuesday news release from Boise Police Department.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with injuries that “appeared on scene to be life-threatening,” police said. He remained in the hospital as of Tuesday. No one else was injured.
The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Ustick Road when he stopped in the middle turn lane to turn left into the parking lot of the Boise Public Library’s Ustick Road branch location, according to the release. He then turned across the first lane of eastbound traffic, which was stopped at the light, and collided with an eastbound vehicle traveling in the second lane.
Detectives from the police department’s violent crimes unit and the crash reconstruction team responded and a portion of Ustick was closed for several hours. No one has been charged or cited, police said.
