Manjishuttle owner Laura Robinson announces closure of Manjimup’s only shuttle service

The only shuttle service catering for Manjimup and surrounds has officially closed its doors.

Manjishuttle owner Laura Robinson announced the closure on Facebook, stating it was time for her to move forward and embark on new ventures.

“It has been a pleasure to conduct business over the past decade,” she said.

“I would like to extend my respect to my spouse Gary, who established the business in 2015, coinciding with the birth of our daughter.”

Operations ceased as of March 6.

“All debts have been cleared and there will be no further pursuit of outstanding payments. I don’t chase. I wish you the best,” Ms Robinson’s post read.

“It has been a pleasure conducting business over the years and I would like to express my gratitude to all our supporters.”

Mrs Robinson took over the business from her spouse after he died suddenly in September last year.

Shire of Manjimup president Donelle Buegge said the closure of the service would leave a void in the community.

“People who don’t have licences, people who need help getting to medical appointments, people who rely on the service, will be impacted,” she said.

“There will be an effect on local events as well. People will need to rely on their community to help fill the void.”

Cr Buegge said the closure would leave an opening for a willing individual or group to take over the rideshare monopoly.

“There’s such a great opportunity to invest in that business and invest in the town,” she said.
