Grundy County authorities recover missing man’s remains

GRUNDY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — More than a month after a Tracy City man was last seen, Grundy County law enforcement announced his remains were discovered in a state park.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office said it recovered human remains in a wooded area of Fiery Gizzard State Park on Sunday, March 23. Those remains were positively identified as 31-year-old Tyler Curtis.

In previous posts about Curtis, officials said he walked away from his family home in the 1700 block of Pigeon Springs Road in Tracy City during the late night hours on Feb. 21. Authorities added that Curtis had a medical condition and hadn’t taken his medication.

According to law enforcement, foul play is not currently suspected in Curtis’ death, but it hasn’t been definitively ruled out at this point in the investigation.

“The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the Curtis family during this incredibly difficult time,” the agency wrote on Facebook.
