Australian fashion brand Rebecca Vallance delves into denim, featuring Perth supermodel Lulu Wood

Denim has been the talk of the fashion town following Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance in an eye-catching pair of boot-cut Celine jeans.

And just as the season of layered dressing commences while temperatures drop, Australian fashion designer Rebecca Vallance has announced a debut into the dynamic world of denim. It couldn’t have come at a better time.

Vallance evidently leaned into the fabric’s inherent versatility — the collection features pieces suitable for every occasion, with modern silhouettes synonymous with the brand’s sophisticated aesthetic. There’s everything from straight-leg jeans to cocoon-sleeve tailoring and cinched-waist dresses, priced between $329 and $599.

“Our inspiration for the new denim collection comes from the modern-day muse. The woman with a true style and sophistication. She has an elegance that feels effortless,” Vallance tells The West Australian.

“It was important to me to ensure that every piece had the perfect balance of structure, comfort and modern femininity. For this first drop, you’ll see we were influenced by a strong modern aesthetic, with a hint of 70s nostalgia.”

The new campaign features WA’s own Perth-to-Paris supermodel Lulu Wood, who has quickly become one of the most in-demand models across international magazines and high-end fashion runway shows.

When it comes to styling denim, Vallance says its all about nailing the tailored fit.

“I think my number one styling tip would have to be getting the length of your jeans just right to match your footwear. For a flared jean look you need to have the cuff sitting over the shoe but not too long so that the flare sits just right. While with boot cut jeans, you can play around with length a little more,” she says.
