Alby Thompson: Broome community gathers to celebrate life of five-year-old who died after being hit by car

The colour blue washed over Cable Beach Amphitheatre at 5.30am on Sunday, as more than 100 locals gathered dressed in blue to celebrate the life of five-year-old Alby Thompson.

Alby died after being struck by a Toyota LandCruiser on Nishioka Way, Bilingurr, about 5.20pm on February 27.

The boy was rushed to Broome Regional Hospital where he later died.

Tears flowed as Broome residents moved in unison during an open yoga session hosted by Broome Gym Life and Soul, united in grief over the loss of a child — a tragedy that has deeply affected the entire community.
